Being an infrastructure Developer @ FINN.no (September 2018 - now) I am part of a great team that moved FINN.no to the cloud. I get to maintain, debug, learn and develop systems at scale. I work with Kubernetes daily, modernize old parts of our systems and sometimes develop services that ease or support deployment of end-user applications.
As an Operations Engineer @ Acrolinx GmbH (January 2016 – May 2018) I was tasked with two missions. The first one was supporting software developers in their everyday work, also by introducing automation and modernizing build infrastructure. The second one was being an internal DevOps advocate, promoting a culture of collaboration, adopting new tools that increase developer independence, and the like.
As a Junior Software Engineer @ Three of Coins (July 2013 – April 2015) I developed and maintained Chef Browser, maintained company's open source cookbooks and Ruby gems. I occasionally wrote internal documentation.
As a Project Coordinator @ Lionbridge (April 2012 – June 2013) I specialized in coordinating/managing translation projects in e-learning, video and documentation. I helped design a new company service that increases efficiency and cost-effectiveness of video translation by adopting automation.
As a Campaign Manager @ Fundacja Viva! (August 2005 – February 2011) I was responsible for a number of awareness campaigns at a time, organized over 60 different events (from demonstration to conference to tour) and often acted as press officer (live tv, anyone?).
In my pre-pandemic free time, I coorganized the Go Oslo User Group. While I lived in Poland and Germany, I occasionaly coached at Rails Girls and Clojure Bridge. I sorted food donations at Tafel e.V.
I sometimes speak at conferences, meetups. I might blog my talk, too.
I still regularly click on the "Close PR" buttons on Github by accident (you're not alone).
